On fall Wednesday nights, you'll find Al Lopez & Holly Schroeder presenting bite-sized pieces of their 500+ slide deck to a virtual class. Al and Holly are the current CoderGirl UX Mentors for LaunchCode. Together, they've successfully evaluated the curriculum and are in the process of redesigning it.

Al and Holly invited me to be a guest speaker at a CoderGirl UX class, to teach on the interviewing research method. Below is the high-level overview of the topics I covered for the 9/23/2020 class. Click this link to look through my slides.
The Interview:
1) Best methods for conducting live interviews,
2) Planning and designing an interview guide
3) Synthesize and report findings
4) Create interview guide (activity)
5) Conduct 1-2 interviews (activity)
Al and Holly invited me to be a guest judge for the Figma Games they were holding the following week. Even though I have only observed two classes, it's clear Al and Holly are providing a first class UX education job prep program to the St. Louis tech community for free!
Class is held virtually from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Central Standard Time on Wednesdays. They typically have an hour to an hour and a half of instruction, a ten minute break, an activity for the students to do, and if they have time, portfolio reviews as well as Q&A.

They love having guests! If you find yourself available on a fall Wednesday night, reach out to Al and Holly and see if you can join and observe a class.
